The D.A.N Project
I am Barbara J. Ishman who proudly served in the United States Army from September 2007 to June 2012 serving 2 deployment tours to Afghanistan with an honorable discharge. I've worked with youth ranging from the ages 6-20 yrs old in the Juvenile System. I worked for the (Army Reserve) Tennessee Challenge Academy in Nashville, TN for 4 yrs while going through my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Forensics. I have done 7 Youth Motivational Speeches. 5 in Tennessee as volunteer work and 2 in my home state St. Louis, Mo. for a Mentor Seminar/College Scholarship give away back in 2014. I have been legally assisting clients for over 10 yrs. I am NOT an attorney! However that is an ending goal as I study to get into Law School pursuing Family Law.
We initially founded our Non-Profit Organization in St. Louis Mo. The name DAN comes from my late GREAT father "Bishop Dan Ishman" who was a pastor for over 30 yrs. I valued him as a loving father and compassionate Pastor. For his well known reputation, he fathered many who were not his children. This played a significant role in keeping kids safe and out the streets! He was a true Patron whom inspired and supported the community. His love was impeccable towards any child or youth. His empowering progress in the community was essential! So we “The D.A.N Project” take pride in high admiration in Bishop Ishman’s name, as the example of what it takes as a Non-Profit to serve our community without fail!
We hold faith, help, and humility with respect to all fathers. We see the value in EVERYONE! We desire to bring awareness on behalf of all fathers as a catalyst for positive change. These challenges of today requires ambitious problem-solvers who bring different perspectives that’s willing to impact transformation. My father gave me our Non-Profit motto which is: “when you invest in your child, you invest in yourself.” So let us invest in you…

The highest priority of The D.A.N. Project is to provide fathers with children, legal assistance aiding rights to their kids. There are no laws that protect fathers who are labeled "deadbeat dads," when they desire to be GREAT fathers. Fathers we hear your cry and we hear your voice of rights! We believe in taking actions in urgency to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues. These are concerns that blocks the fathers' role of consistency and financially though child-support. Every child needs a mother, but every child deserves a father. Fathers if you pay child-support YOU HAVE RIGHTS! Let us educate you on what they are! WELCOME!

*Knowledge on Child Support Laws pertaining to your state of the order
*Offer knowledge in how to petition the courts for a hearing for visitations
*Assisting all men (including felons) in job assistance programs
